Marriott and Their Spirit to Serve
There are many successful people coming from all over the world. I’ve heard even read by myself some of their success stories behind. It was great to know the way they’ve taken to step on their success stairs and how to learn more about having vision and big dream, working hard and smart, and dealing with people whose various characters. All of these learning definitely would be needed to create and reach successfulness so as many previous successes have done.
I was very interested with success story of J.W. Marriott Jr. who has been one of the biggest hotel network owners in the whole world. Surely we must be familiar with J.W. Marriott Hotel since at least one or two of their branches have been found in our country even almost all of countries around the world. One of success keys to reach their big network is spirit to serve. I think it’s a simple matter but sometimes not too easy to be done and may not be disregarded especially in running a public service business.
When we get in there, certainly we could feel their cozy and balmy atmospheres and those are not happened incidentally. During tens of year Marriott has developed such Standard Operating Procedures in order to ascertain their high uniformity standard. Moreover Marriott has conducted such different treatments for people especially for the employees. They have spent much money to give the best treatments for all of their staffs by conducting training system which is above the average, fair profit sharing, even free phone lines to many counselors and experts to solve some non-job problems. If you treat your people well so that they will do the same to all of your guests – this is what they exactly believe. On the contrary, many other hotel networks are only focusing on their efforts to yield more profits and not to give satisfying services which in the end these companies only show average growth level. Marriott has placed best service either for consumers and employees on the first priority above yielding more profits and this has been one effective way to bring them to success.
